Three Product Face

Putting makeup on in the morning (before I leave for work or just before I go out of the house, really) has become part of my daily routine. I must admit, however, that it does take me quite a while to finish a look. And then, I realize why. Moisturizer. Primer. Foundation. Concealer. Setting powder. Eyebrow powder. Eyebrow gel. Eyelid primer. Eyeshadow (base, define, outer V, crease, highlight). Eyeliner. Mascara base. Mascara. Bronzer. Blush. Lipstick. I use 19 (!!!) products on my face on a daily basis, and that’s just for a simple daytime look. Knowing this, one of my close friends challenged me to do a three product face. It was quite difficult to choose just three products when I’m used to using 19, but fulfill it, I must!

From Left to Right: Innisfree Lip and Cheek Tint l Kate Powderless Liquid for Cover l

Heavy Rotation Coloring Eyebrow Tint

After giving it much thought, the three products I chose were:

  • Base – Kate Powderless Liquid for Cover. This foundation has a liquid to powder formulation that even if it is creamy when pumped from the bottle, it sets on the face as matte. This saved me from having to apply setting powder on top of my foundation. I applied more layers on the parts of my face (aka undereye circles, pimples) that needed more coverage.

  • Brows – Heavy Rotation Coloring Eyebrow Tint. After running the wand through my brow hair, I grabbed a small angled brush, got some product from the tube, and shaped my brows as I would have with a powder.

  • Lips and Cheeks – Innisfree Lip and Cheek Tint. The formulation and color is quite as nice as Benefit’s Cha Cha Tint, which makes this a great dupe. I applied this on the apples of my cheeks for a natural flush and on my lips for a hint of color.

And here’s the look I came up with:

While I think the end result looked pretty decent, lining my upper lids or applying mascara could’ve made my eyes appear less Chinese than they really are and contouring would have not given me the need to pose in a certain angle to make my face appear less fuller. Though overall, given that I completed this look in only 15 minutes, I think this is quite wearable especially on days when I want to get more sleep in the morning.

What do you think? I challenge you to do a three product face! :)
